TEAMWORK and The Gentle Path to Success

The Gentle Path to Success
TEAMWORK - `Together we achieve the extraordinary`

The start to the week is all about inspiration, innovation, investment and involvement of time.

Business and general life is about dialogue that we `all` understand and respond to. So make the playing field equal, so all people understand the language used and the action to take, to receive and accept, so business life and general life is successful for `all` involved.

Yes, you can achieve all things in life by your attitude to be positive, you have the solution in you, so go forward and use it now!

THE GENTLE PATH TO SUCCESS
===========================

" The real winners in life are the people who look at every situation with an expectation that they can make it work or make it better "
- Barbara Pletcher, author
Giving comes before Receiving...
both in the alphabet and in life. You can have everything you’ve ever wanted — business and career success as well as financial prowess — if you give enough people what it is that they want too. Figure out that formula, and you’ll always prosper.

"In a gentle way, you can shake the world."

-Mahatma Gandhi

If you want to be successful in life, you are generally told to follow one of two paths. The first path (let's call it 'the masculine path') is a path of hard work, discipline, struggle, failure, and triumph - the way of the warrior. It is often summed up in the words of the Carthaginian General Hannibal, who said "We will either find a way or make one." Of course what no-one ever talks about is that he said it just before rounding up his elephants and heading off to lose the Punic wars to the Romans. Which brings us to the issue with the masculine path - if you do not happen to succeed, you've gone to an awful lot of pain and bother for nothing.

The other path (we will call it 'the feminine path') talks about creating your reality with your mind and the power of attraction. "Your thoughts are things", this path tells us, "so think only of what you want and what you want will soon be yours."

But as anyone who has spent any amount of time attempting to manifest what they want with the power of their mind knows, it works just often enough to keep you feeling like the other 8 out of 10 times must be your fault for not thinking positively enough.

Fortunately, there is a third path - what I call the `gentle path`, a blend of the masculine and feminine. And when you blend the masculine and feminine, wonderful things can happen! This is the best way for success!

Here's how it works:

Imagine what you want is like a beautiful butterfly in your hands. If you want to keep that butterfly close, you will need to hold it gently. If you squeeze too tight, the butterfly will be crushed; if you hold your hands too loosely, the butterfly will simply fly away.

This metaphor of 'butterfly hands' is one that I believe has applications for achieving success in nearly every area of life.

*Money

Focus too intensely on money and you squeeze any sense of prosperity or abundance out of it; too loosely and what little of it you have will slip through your fingers. A gentle consistent focus will yield gentle, consistent results.

*Parenting

Anyone who has had children knows the dual urges to hold them close and push them out of the nest. So when you approach your kids gently, giving them enough space to breathe without enough rope to hang themselves, they will respond in the best of all possible ways - by becoming the wonderful adults we all hope they can be.

*Relationships

If you hold on to your partner too tightly, they will feel stifled and the joy will be crushed from the relationship; too loosely and there will be no relationship to crush. When you hold on to your partner lightly with 'butterfly hands', neither clinging nor ignoring, they tend to respond by loosening (or tightening) their grip on you as well.

*Spirituality

My favourite expression for the gentle path to spirituality comes from the Dzogchen tradition of Tibetan Buddhism - "undistracted non-meditation". Non-meditation in that it does not cling too tightly to any one interpretation or belief system; undistracted in that it does not forget the light of the divine in the midst of everyday life.

*Work

If you are obsessed about your business or your work, you may succeed but at the cost of your health, relationships and well-being; if you leave it to take care of itself, chances are someone else will wind up taking it away from you. By approaching your business and work as being 'an important part of your wonderful life', you will tend to get the best out of yourself, your employees, and even your clients and customers. Business is for life!

-------------------------
Today's Experiment:
-------------------------

1. Notice for yourself which of the three paths you tend to take in your pursuit of a better life. (It may be different in different areas.)

2. Which path seems the most familiar to you? Which one is most enjoyable? Which one seems to work most consistently?

3. Decide in each area what it would be like to introduce a gentler approach to success. Do you need to tighten up or lighten up? Do more or do less?

Have fun, learn heaps, and enjoy every step of your path!

Life is fun, life is hard work, but just look at the success you will have in life.
